Chef Mimi Maumus has been redoing the eats, which focus on real, satisfying food: kale salad, bagel with banana jam and bacon, noodles, housemade granola and more, plus alcoholic and booze-free snoballs. Popular with kids and grown folks alike.

Look for the air-dancer out front. Drive-thru or walk-up. There's also a food truck for catering and pop-ups. Another Athens location, on the Greenway on Oconee Street, is in the works, but the original Arnoldsville shop is closed for now.

Hours: Lunch and dinner, open seven days. • It's a franchise that's known for its rice-flour donuts and Korean corndogs coated in things like Hot Cheetos, but Chef V is busy serving delicious Indonesian dishes that you won't find at any other location. She's always tinkering with the menu, so ask her what's good and you'll end up with something that hits every kind of tastebud in your mouth. Breakfast is available sometimes. Good boba, too, and now rolled ice cream.
